This book is about the story of a boy named Percy Jackson. He’s 12 years old and on the first day of summer, just after the end of the sixth-grade year, he discovers there’s something wrong with him. He learns that he is a half-blood: half-human and half-god. He gets taken to Camp Half-Blood in New York, a camp for people that are just like him and is safe from the monsters out there to attack the half-bloods.
At the camp, Percy learns more about himself, and who his real father is. The ancient Greek god of the sea, Poseidon one of the 3 great gods along with his brothers Hades and Zeus, is his real father. When Zeus’ master bolt (the object that he uses to create lightning where and whenever he wants) gets stolen, Poseidon is blamed for it.
