Derek Bok has multiple degrees, which include a Bachelor’s from Stanford University, a law degree and Harvard Law, and even a Masters from George Washington University. In his article Preparing for a Career, he talks about how vocational training does not have any position in a liberal arts curriculum but could benefit one another by merging into one. Degrees at UNLV can be either vocational or liberal arts. Only a few degrees have the benefits of both. For example, the hospitality degrees at UNLV give the opportunity to get hands on experiences with internships near the local area of Las Vegas. As for liberal arts, they tend to push for more work ethics within classrooms and teachings than actual work experience. With both liberal arts and vocational curriculums, it gives students the chance to think in a broader outlook than just to succeed and have money. Vocational programs have a bigger desire considering “Today 60 percent of college seniors are in vocational programs” (p.369
