Summary Of Purpose For Pursuing MS In Computer Science
I am Kuturu Anudeep, a Computer Science Engineer. I am also an amateur documentary movie maker. To make my stand clear I have acted as the protagonist in some of these short films. I believe my experience and education in the field of computer science will fortify my interests further. In the following lines I present my candidature for pursuing MS in Computer Science.
It is my contention that technology and media must not only focus on entertaining or making our life easier rather it should have wider possibilities. Technology is definitely on the super highway but it has also been tagging along with it some ugly demons, one of them being impractical expectations from the youngsters by the parents and the society. I welcome competition

One of the criticisms I had to face was that I had to improve the technical quality of the movies by using the software related to Editing, Sound Mixing, Computer Graphics and Animations. I could have gone for a proper movie making course to enhance my skills however, I did not want to fit the prescribed mould of movie makers. I intend to be a Computer Science Engineer who also has a passion for visualizing and shaping thought provoking movies.
I believe that poverty can be eradicated globally with the availability of opportunities. Opportunities can be created with technology. If people have access to technology like Sixth Sense they can become self reliant. Moreover, the need for professionals with computer skills is ever growing. So I see myself in future doing something in the lines of Pranav Misthri. Pranav Misthri is the inventor of Sixth Sense, a wearable device that enables new interactions between the real world and the world of

Shopping, learning, working and entertainment can all be accessed from the comfort of our own homes, on a train or sat in a cafe,” (The Guardian).…

It has almost completely taken over every form of our lives. Let’s face it from the moment an individual wakes up, to begin their day until that winding down time the same individual begins to cap the night off there is some form of media introduced in their daily lifestyle. If there were someone that wasn’t in touch with today’s society it media may not have any impact on them unlike the next person. I mean let’s face it if you were to go out and not see the average person walking around with their face deeply in their mobile device would probably would think something major was going on, it is just the society that we live in. People use media devices in a variety of different ways that allows them to find a broader technological advance to make our daily lifestyle easier to learn and adhere to life in general. Technology has played a big role in electronic and digital media. Technological inventions keep companies competing in the same areas. “Digital and electronic media today is plentiful with the information highway (Internet) providing answers at our fingertips, along with cell phones that are equipped with cameras and Internet connection”(Thomas 2010). Today media has a major impact on society. Since technology is ever changing, society is forced to keep up with the technological changes and advances. From satellite television to wireless electronics, society wants all the new technological inventions ever made. Society has grown dependent on electronic products, spending less time with people and more time on the internet. Before television was invented kids were forced to play outside with the neighborhood children. Before the internet or World Wide Web, libraries were used religiously allowing everyone to research on their own and take time to read books. Digital cameras allow us to capture moments, save print and share. With inventions like memory cards, we are able to save any and everything. Today computers are used in schools for easier access to topics discussed in class. Without chemical and electronic technological inventions society would be still looking for ways to invent and create.…

“I cannot imagine how I would live without it.” These are the words uttered by countless teenagers and adults about the technology they use to enhance their daily lives. It is hard to remember the days of lugging around CD’s and walk-mans. Bicycles as transportation seem like a thing of the past. Writing notes and remembering information for the next day is long forgotten. Reading encyclopedias and using books for research papers seems nonexistent. Simple technological advancements have changed how people view the world. As a child of a modern age, technology has become an integral part of my everyday life. A separation of these technical innovations…

The 21st century is a remarkable time where everything is changing from tradition to technology. This has a profound effect on our youth and will have a greater effect on future generations. These times will shape the future generations for either a technology-reliant generation or shape and mold the future of tradition. The effect of young people having technology is overly apparent to teachers and their parents. Their kids get bored with things they loved to do as kids. The difference is they have television and many other technologies growing up that have shaped their minds into being entertained. If they are not they will ignore, throw fits or simply not learn from the experience. Neil Postman warns in his book Amusing Ourselves to Death that education presented as entertainment undermines tradition. Traditions like learning from your teacher instead of an online application. Traditions like learning from the outside world around you by exploring it instead of digitally exploring the internet. Today teachers are attempting to turn technology into learning devices but much like Postman’s “rear-view mirror thinking”, the iPad and related devices are used for entertainment. The impact technologies like the iPad and iPod and introducing video games for “educational benefit” are not helping them socially, emotionally or educationally as much as harming them.…

Advances in technology cause great controversy. These controversies are centered around the influences technology has on the people who engage in different types of technology. In the article titled “Out Semi-Literate Youth? Not So Fast” by Andrea Lunsford, she explains the importance of technology and how, in most cases, technology is able to help develop students. In another article titled “Hal and Me” by Nicholas Carr, he stresses the point that technology is pushing ‘the good life’ to the wayside. Although both authors have different opinions when it comes to technology, they both agree that changes are occurring due to technological influences on peoples’ brains. Technology plays an extremely large role in the lives of the people in this world, it is important that everyone understands that changes that come with the advances of technology.…

In this day and age it is difficult to gauge whether the pros out way the cons because of all the different ways to access visual entertainment. When I was a kid, we had 10 channels and cartoons were really only on in the mornings and early afternoons. Now cartoons are on television all the time and some have questionable content. There are literally hundreds of channels to choose from; each providing their own brand of entertainment whether it be good natured or inappropriate. Now a person can view television shows, news, movies, or videos from sites such as YouTube, from a computer, cell phone, or Ipad allowing limitless access to different forms of visual entertainment. Although there are positive things about this expansion of visual media such as keeping the public better informed in our nation’s and world events, public and political opinions, and different ways of expressing one’s art, the downside is that it is more difficult to monitor what our children are exposed to on television and the internet. So even though we have made great technological advancements in the past 20 years, I am reminded of a statement by the actor Jeff Goldblum in the 1993 blockbuster film Jurassic Park: “It should not be whether or not we could, but whether or not we should.” Meaning that just because we can expose ourselves constantly with different forms of visual entertainment does not mean we…

Many people believe in the old way of doing things. “Elite media outlets controlled access to information” (par 2). Some people believe that technology make people lazy and the old traditional journalism is better than over the wide open door of the internet. Some agree with Siegal that “a constant flow of news and information” (par 1) can disable our mind from understanding the information and the value of the knowledge. However the benefit of technology is incomparable to anything else. The internet help business to get the product across the nation. All over the world people are using technology to communicate with their love one and other. Without technology there is no way to get our ideas to others. I acknowledge the point that some people are making that too much technology is not however the benefit that people gain from technology can not…
