In the delivery of her talk she gives her audience various reason to believe her as a credible person and is demonstrating good ethos throughout her talk. Amy Herdy has had professional and job experience in the matter of which she speaks. In her talk she assure us of this once in the beginning when she says, “ One morning I was going to my job as a criminal justice reporter” and a second time towards the end of her talk she asures us again that she knows about what she is talking about by mentioning she is, “ a journalsist who has spent a life time covering sexual assults”, making it clear to us she knows what she is talking about. I believe that adding this information to her talk is very effective because although it was not what the talk was about it allowed us her audience to know something about her that inforcced in us the fact that she has deep lnowledge in her subject of talk. She was also able to grow ( ranother word for grow) her ethos through the story she gives us and she was able to utilized this all throughout her talk. We can take her word as a credible source because she had personal contact with Brent and the victum Margaret she has them as a sorce. Throughout Amy Herdy’s talk she contains many facts in the content of her talk. For example she states “ In Denver in 2005 reports of a serial rapist had residents so frightened some were caring baseball bats.” She is also able to give us facts about the case due to her position in it, as well as due to her relationships with the people involved in the case. She structured most of her talk in the form of a story she tells us how this and that happened and how events unfolded. Towards the half of her talk she then adds in a call to action, as mentioned before her call to action was “ teach [our youth] how feeling shame, how feeling powerless, feeling angry, all of which cover up hurt and rejection, could cause them to want to dominate someone else. And that they can learn to recognize triggers and not act on them. At least start that conversation and then speech up if you witness predatory behavior...Try to prevent [perpetrators].” Besides enforcing her logos to show us she cares about us this call to action also served as a form of structure in the context of her talk, from which she was able to organize what she wanted to say and in what order, the story before the call to action. One very interesting observation I made one her talk was over was that Amy Herdy used a form circular ending, although it was not at the ending. She started off by telling us about how she felt scared by a man in the elevator, stating, “ I steped
