On the field, athletes have a lot of pressure especially in front a large audience. An unnamed NHL hockey player lost his focus and said that his performance was like a four. After talking with the author, Gary Mack and about how to think positively in life, the hockey player’s performance number increased to 6, showing his improvement. Even though he missed passes from the start of the game, he still managed to play a great game. I believe if this player believes in himself more and works hard, he can be successful and like what NHL executive said “make millions”. The author’s message is that hard work that can help increase your number of performance. A player should learn to improve his or her own number performance and not give up. Also, the players should learn not to think negatively but positively, which would result in a better performance in the …show more content…
Baseball. In the movie, Jack Elliot, the New York Yankees first baseman got replaced after his poor performance on the field. He had to go to Japan to play for the Dragons. In the beginning, Elliot was very arrogant and thought he can hit all the fast balls during practice. However he missed all the balls. Soon he admitted that he needed work on his swinging and the new coaches began to train him. By the end of the movie, he became a better batter than he was in U.S. The author’s message is that everyone is not good at everything and learning to work on their weaknesses can help improve their skills just like Elliot. They must try to understand what they did wrong and how they are going to fix
