Who is Charles Fishman? Well, Charles was born in Miami, Florida and went to Harvard University. He now lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with his wife who is also a journalist. They have two children and four pets in which two are Labradors and the other two are parakeets. Besides The Big Thirst: The Secret Life and Turbulent Future, he also, has wrote The Wal-Mart Effect that is the bestseller and an Economist Book of the Year, The Curious Mind: The Secret to a Bigger Life that was also the bestselling collaboration with Hollywood producer

In addition, I did enjoy reading the book because I learned more about water and the problems that happen to several states in the United States as well as worldwide. The book can be a great option for those individuals who are interested in learning more about global water crisis. Also, Fishman helps to describe how we look at water and how much we use daily and yearly. For example, “The United States uses water each day than it uses oil in a year” (Fishman, 2011), in which I found it interesting to read. Fishman pointed out that human’s love water because we will pay thousand times the price of tap water to drink from our preferred brand of bottled. Comparing to the country of India, where little girls and women are out searching for clean water to drink.
