In “The Giver”, by Lois Lowry, the author shows us that Jonas sadly died, never getting to the mysterious Elsewhere; he was just imagining it. In the first place, the author tells us that Jonas was suddenly hearing music out of nowhere when he hadn’t before, meaning that he was having an hallucination.
