practices of inhuman and injustice act can destroy the whole society. others. Jurgis, Teta Elzbieta, and their family come to America based on the promise of high wages and a happy, good life. From the outset, they maintain an unshakable faith in the American Dream—the idea that hard work and morality will yield material success and happiness (Sinclair 2012). The story of this family has been considered in the novel that has faced the higher level of negative side of the capitalism revolving around America. The family was immigrated to a place where they faced the higher level of the moral corruption, and they were unable to find the values that could bring peace to their mind and provide them an easy way of living their life. The family was not given the rights of liberty and the right to land. They were not able sustain in a suitable condition where the economic evidences could be seen as the measure of the morality. The family, in reality was having the values of working hard, and they were honest too. They wanted to enjoy the right to their life, but there were not policies provided through which they could live an independent life. Therefore, the novel is considering that the capitalism in the society was the real measure for the values that could support people and bring them peace of mind. It was a great period of suffering in which the people had to maintain their life by their own because there were no opportunities to be saved from the difficulties of life.
The main reason for this was that there were more people affected by the capitalism that needed help rather than the people having the skills for helping others. The labor conditions were poor because there were no opportunities for the poor to work, and if they could get an opportunity then there were not fair wages available. It can be considered as there was a major overhaul in the Economic system of the United States which did not let people to be working in an effective manner and living a prompt
life. The novel is basically providing the views in which the society is being considered as the whole, and no factors are being considered as the rule of power. There are many factors in which the novel is presenting that the fair rights for people should be considered as the pillar for providing the equal opportunity, and the equal rights to people and there should be no policies that consider for harming the interest of one group of society on the other group. This will make the nationwide views to be important rather considering for the good of a particular society or a group such as poor. There is no concept of treating one caste different form others, and no one should be having the racist believes. This all depends upon the education of a society and the beliefs of the people in a nation. In this regard, the novel is fit in with the Progressive reform impulse on the point that the immigration, political intervention and the policies of the society should have to be considered as equally important for all the individuals. The policies set by the state government should have to maintain the stance through which they should not be considering a race and society inferior than other. The societal dilemmas for inequality should be removed by decreasing the political corruption to the higher extent. This will be beneficial for the economic sustainability as well as empowering success to the individuals living in the society.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the societal and economic success is only based on the values delivered to the society by its people and the governmental actions. This scenario is clearly stated in the novel and there are long term value described that can reduce the poverty and provide the equal opportunity to the people. In the United States, the factory owners, the banks and the marketers, everyone contributed to the poor conditions and circumstances through the immigrants were not provided to live an effective life. Furthermore, the labor conditions were poor because there were no opportunities for the poor to work and if they could get an opportunity then there were no fair wages available. For this purpose, there are many factors in which the novel is presenting that the fair rights of the people should be considered as the pillar for providing the equal opportunity and the equal rights to the people and there should be no policies that consider for harming the interest of the one group of society on the other group. Thus, the policies of the state are effective for delivering the positive values in the society.
