Summary Of The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street
In the story “The Monsters are Due on Maple Street'' the characters all act the same.By being scared and worried being around the other people because they will start to accuse them about something.Like in the text when “He stops suddenly as behind him, the car engine starts up all by itself. Les whirls around to stare at the car.” Then Charlie says”He always was an oddball”. Him and his whole family. Real oddball.” starting to accuse him that he was the reason everything was not working. before that everybody was calm and thought the reasoning behind nothing was working was due to a asteroid or a emp.But when the are all talking and they wanted to see if anyone else is dealing with this.Tommy said”Whoever was in that thing that came over. I don’t think they want us to leave here.” Everyone gets scared so when someone's car starts to work they think they were the ones that made this happen.

In “The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street” by Rod Serling, the events In the story advance the plot by continuing the story, for example In the story, if Tommy didn’t ever say that it was aliens, then they would have gone over to the police station and asked them what was happening. As the selection implies, Tommy didn’t want Mr. Brand to go because the aliens didn't want them to leave, this is a big part in the story because then they start to do all these crazy things. The second big thing is that Mr. Goodman's car starts by itself, and this rises suspicion to how it happened or maybe he has like some special alien powers that can control the car.…

Rod Serling’s message to the readers of “The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street” is that you shouldn't accuse people without reliable information. The theme begins to appear in the story when suddenly a meteor flies by overhead and catches everyone’s attention and all the power shut off. In the text it says, “Charlie and Steve are about to go downtown but then Tommy tells Steve to not leave. Because the monsters don’t want them to leave and that there could be monsters in their neighborhood.…

My idea for a theme for Monsters Due On Maple Street is that fear can change a persons judgement/opinion. In the beginning of the story there was a big flash or boom and then everyone's power simultaneously turned off. Everyone started questioning what was the problem but it led them nowhere seeing that their guesses really meant nothing based around their surroundings. Then Tommy tells Steve to not go which basically starts the whole situation involving fear because Tommy took a guess that it was aliens and that they wanted them to leave because they were aliens and everyone started second guessing each other.…

Many people in this world will believe in the first impression they get. The appearance people see will usually satisfy them without further investigating into the reality of a situation. The difference between appearance and reality can be quite different. This also applies to literature. There are many instances where an author will describes a character as kind, but is actually deceptive and mean. In the novel The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, there are characters and situations that show how appearances can differ from reality. The three main instances are the Grangerford and Shepherdson feud, through the Duke and the Dauphin, and Miss Watson.…
