The Story of Jumping Mouse, and By the Waters of Babylon, both have the same mythical structure, because of the journey that both Jumping Mouse goes through, and also the journey that John goes through. Both stories have the exact same meaning, just described differently. This shows the many different ways that one thing can be deciphered.…
The element of twisted love was portrayed in both stories. In Hop-Frog, Trippetta stands up for Hop-frog while he was being harassed by the king. While doing so, the King threw wine in her face. Hop-frog then began to speak gibberish and told the King about a wonderful costume idea. As the king went along with Hop-frog’s idea, Hop-frog was actually plotting the deaths of the eight men. He got the men all dressed up, just to hang them from the ceiling and burn them. Hop-frog obviously killed them out of his love for Trippetta because the king disrespected her and Hop-frog wanted revenge. The story of The Black…
The stories “Hop-Frog” and “The Masque of Red Death” both are based on vengeance. Hop-Frog is a very shy dwarf who always listens to the King. Later on in the story, Hop-Frog gets very inflamed at the King when he throws a goblet at Trippetta’s face. In the text it states, “It was interrupted by a low, but harsh and protracted grating sound which seemed to come at once from every corner of the room.” (Poe, “Hop Frog” 3). Hop-Frog needed to get vengeance on the King for hitting Trippetta. In, “The Masque of Red Death”, Prince Prospero is the owner of a castle that is closed in from the outside and inside.…
I think that Hop Frog is justified for killing the king and his seven ministers because of how cruel they were towards Hop Frog and Trippetta. During the wine scene in the story, the king exhibits his cruel nature by forcing Hop Frog to drink the wine. Even though the king knows that Hop Frog is not comfortable doing it he still makes him, knowing very well how it affects Hop Frog. The other seven ministers do not take pity of Hop Frog, even they smirk and laugh at the king’s horribly cruel stunt. Even when Trippetta falls on her knees and begs the king to stop his merciless joke, he throws her aside like a rag doll and throws the remaining wine onto her.…
“Hop-Frog” and “The Cask of Amontillado” have similarities regarding setting too. For example, “Hop-Frog” and “The Cask of Amontillado” take place in Europe. Also, they are both during a celebration. For example, Poe establishes the setting of “Hop-Frog” when he states, “His mode of equipping the party as ourang-outangs were very simple but effective enough for his purposes” (Poe Hop-Frog 5). This evidence suggests that a party was happening at the time in Hop-Frog. While the time and place of “The Cask of Amontillado” were almost clearly stated, the setting in “Hop-Frog” was left for the reader to…

Advance directive in a true definition means a written document that you will sign telling your surrogate what to do with your body when you’re sick or if you passed. The document indicates your choices about medical treatment; you can also name someone to make decisions about your medical treatment called a surrogate if you are unable to make these decisions. Basically a Advance directive is a way for your family to make medical decisions for your body when your in a critical state. This is made for you to have a way of getting your voice heard when you have passed on. This allows someone you care about to make health care decisions for you when you cannot make them yourself. For example if you cannot make decisions on to pull the…
2.Hamlet jokes about death and worms when Claudius is trying to get Hamlet to tell him where the body is. Hamlet jokes by saying Polonius is being eaten by worms to Claudius and continues by saying that even a king could be eaten by a worm, insinuating that Claudius will also die and be eaten by worms too. -(SORTA right: diet is what we eat but also is what the meeting of the king and assembly historical humor?)…
Adventure Time is a cartoon that began airing on Cartoon Network in 2010. It’s creator; Pendleton Ward created Adventure Time in 2008 as a pilot which aired on Nickelodeon. The protagonists, Jake the dog and Finn the human are adventurers, voiced by John DiMaggio, and Jeremy Shada. They travel throughout the land of Ooo; a surreal - post-apocalyptic land inhabited by beings made of candy. During their travels, they are compelled to help the inhabitants of Ooo and perform heroic deeds. Adventure Time is a unique collection of stories in and of itself. These stories are filled with magic, wizards, monsters, and epic (sometimes comical) battles. Finn and Jake are rarely shown in a traditional home setting, nor are they shown to attend school. This unique attribute of Adventure Time seems to portray mindset of children at play as opposed to the way children live which is the norm in this type of television series.…
The teacher from the video went over the story from the previous day, she even pointed out the tips from the story “How to Jump Rope”, she realize there was tips in the story, so she’s making sure her students know about tips because the tips are important and they want their reader to be safe, and know when something is important. For example, you can’t jump rope in heels because you can hurt yourself it’s better to wear sneakers. Then she re-read the story they did and she had her own tips, so that the reader knows that is very important. And in the end I like the fact that she had the students re-read their own story that they wrote, then she have them talk to their neighbor, and then they add their own tips to their story for the readers…
For example the guard, who harmed Tom before he enters the castle believes, that the prince adorned in the pauper's clothing, is the pauper who got him in trouble with the prince. So he angrily struck him and infuriatingly stated, “Take that thou beggar’s spawn, for what thou got’st me from his highness!” (p.10). Further proving the brutality of the period, as Edward is only a mere child, yet the guard strikes him out of anger, and the crowd reacts as though this is a normality and even responds with laughter. Edward questions the sincerity of the populace, as they mock the true king, rather than restoring him to his rightful position.…
It is noted in the story that the queen, the prince's mother, comes from ogre descent. She attempts to eat both of her grandchildren separately, and later the princess, but is fooled by the steward. When she becomes aware of these heinous acts, she becomes furious and makes a pot to cook them all in. Right then, however, the prince rides up and saves his wife and children. The queen then dives into her own pot and is subsequently killed. This is a textbook example of the evil character getting what she deserved in the end.…
