Summary Of The Story 'Two In One By Flinn O' Brien
In the short story, “Two in One” there was a big detail orientated story about the boss and his co-worker that worked as a taxidermist. Flinn O’Brien brings in two men with two different attitudes and has a job where they both can do something they like. O’Brien describes the job in detail for the reader in just short of length. Murphy was the type of man that did his job but hated his boss as being a taxidermist. Kelly was a “swinish, overbearing mean boss, a bully, a sadist” man that would do his job day by day (O’Brien 1). However, he also had a assistant that helped him; Mr. Murphy, was hated by his boss but did his work that was assigned to him. There was not much to Kelly, you could tell the way he acted. Kelly even had the attitude toward Murphy of hatred. He really did not show any affection toward him but would give him the jobs that he did not want either. When there was something to work on, he always wanted the big projects and Murphy would get the easy ones that would not take long to do. Kelly is a man that had an attitude but really was not that great of man with compliments, he stayed to himself usually. …show more content…

A taxidermist who charges much less than average might use inferior materials” (Raykovicz 3). When looking for someone to do your work, you need to make sure you have a well-skilled man that does their work with top-quality. If not, you will have a mount on your wall that you are not impressed with but unfortunately you will have to keep

Two women, Karen Bell and Patricia M. Samford, studied the religious practices of the enslaved in the eighteenth century during the height of the transatlantic slave trade. Bell focuses on the enslaved Africans who arrived in Georgia, while Samford looks at those who came to Virginia, specifically to Williamsburg and the surrounding plantations. The transatlantic slave trade stole men and women away from their families, communities, and way of life. It forced them through a brutal passage across an ocean to a new world where they were forced to work in horrendous conditions. Bell and Samford study how the enslaved men and women held onto their spiritual practices and embraced new faith to form their own communities.…

In the story Two Kinds, the title gives a great incite of the meaning of the story. Throughout the whole short story, there are many references to “two kinds” of something. The idea is, that no one will ever be good enough in another person’s eyes until they think they are good enough for themselves. I think that’s why Jing has such a hard time trying to please her mom. Jing doesn’t love herself enough to think she could actually please her mom. Throughout the story, Jing is put down until she finally has enough and after that she becomes content with herself.…

I wrote what her day might have been like if there was no conflict whatsoever. Her day is uninteresting and just a skeleton of what it could be. Although on the other hand, I wrote what her diary would look like for a day filled with conflict.…
