Summary Of Understanding Comics: The Invisible Art

In “Understanding Comics: The Invisible Art” Scott McCloud demonstrate to us what comics means to him. He mentions that comic have a long history and is more difficult than is often imagined. In chapter three, for example, by comparing and contrasting the different forms of eastern and western comics, he says that comic is also an art worth further studying. The thing that was really impressing to me was his effort of figuring out a definition of comic. As McCloud states, “The world of comics is a huge and varied one.” (4) Comics have a lot potential; It appears to be simple but it’s not.
