When you’re stuck or do not know something you should always ask your professor (Brizee paragraph 6). Your professor expects more from you when you’re in college and they expect you to ask when you’re not sure about something because if you do not ask, it could affect your grade and many other things. I would want to tell my peers that asking appropriate questions are okay and questions are usually encouraged; there is no reason to be scared when asking questions. Your professor will not think less of you; they would be willing to help you out. In “Understanding Writing Assignments” by Allen Brizee they state in paragraph 9 that, “What resources do I need to begin work? Do I need to conduct literature (hermeneutic or historical) research, or do I need to review important literature on the topic and then conduct empirical research, such as a survey or an observation? How many sources are required?” I have chosen this step that Brizee has mentioned because you will need to cite everything in your work if you’re using it from someone/somewhere else other than your own head. It is a great idea to think about the sources before hand. I would want my peers to know that you need to cite everything and that if you do not do so you can get in trouble. No matter how small the citation you forgot is, you are still at …show more content…
However, this is about how you should write and how to understand exploratory papers. I would want my peers to know that it is important to know what type of paper your professor wants from you because not all papers are written/set up the same way. Brizee states in paragraph 1 that, “The main point is to conduct inquiry into a topic, gather information, and share that information with readers.” It has been awhile since I have had to write an exploratory paper and I have learned in this short paragraph what this type of paper is and what I should focus on. Whenever I have to write an exploratory paper in the future, I will make sure to visit this so I can refresh my memory on this type of paper. Brizee brings up three questions you should answer in this type of paper. The first step is about how you set the context and to do this is you provide basic information (Brizee paragraph 3). The second step is about how you should talk about why/how the main idea is important; this will help draw the reader in (Brizee paragraph 4). Drawing the reader in is very important because you want them to read your entire paper and you do not want to bore them. Your goal is to educate them and help them understand what you’re writing about. The third step is
