Reading after the poetry ,”Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield, I find that the author want to tell readers to forget the pass. Also, people should to break the tradition. In the one hand, people should forget the pass, to face the future. This can be shown in the second stanza, “Open up the dirty window. Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find” (Line 4). This means people should forget the pass, open the window in people heart, to face the future, to face the challenge. Open the new world and start a new life. Out-looking the future and do the best for oneself. Overall, our identity is depends by ourselves, we should forget what we lose, put down the pass. Use the new eyes to look the future. In another hand, people should to
break the tradition. Not only oneself, but also people who with you. Just like the stanza 5 “I break tradition, sometimes my tries, are outside the lines. We’ve been conditioned to not make mistakes, but I can’t live that way”(Line 19). This clearly shown the author’s thought, she wants to break the tradition, to create a new world. Author knows she was be control in the pass, but now, she wants to break the pass, do something outside the line. But been conditioned to not make mistakes, to adapt this world. Author also tells people. Don’t control by the time, don’t control by the life, live a new life, live one’s own life.
