In the article Emily Gipson and the video she made, “Welcome to Lebanon High School”, were discussed, and the story was told in detail. Emily Gipson, a sixteen year old student at Lebanon High School, made a video about suicide and bullying. She posted the video on YouTube, which got 600,000 views, and eventually received a two-day suspension for violating school policy on making videos in a classroom without permission. The video was clean with no violence or profanity, but the school administrators claim she was suspended for making it on the school grounds. The video got mixed reactions from teachers and students. The principal of the school and some teachers were offended and had their feelings hurt by it. Not all of the students agreed with Emily either. One time in middle school when my friend and I were around the 5th grade, him and his older brother were riding the bus home, and another kid was making fun of his brother because he has learning disabilities. My friend told the other kid to stop making fun of him and laughing at his older brother, but the he chose to continue instead. My friend threatened to do something to the kid if he did not stop and the kid still kept making fun of his brother. My friend, out of options, hit the kid, who was similar to his age, in the face and never heard anything from him again after that day. The situation probably could’ve been handled in different ways, but sometimes the only way to truly teach a bully their lesson is by taking action
