Gregory is the best candidate for taking MOOCs because he is determined, shy, and helpful, in which theses traits will help him to succeed in MOOCs and in all his classes he would take. Gregory is the best candidate to take MOOCs because he is determined. I know this because Gregory mentions “I refuse to give up before I attain this dream."(Gregory 15) In "The Year of the MOOC" it mentioned that “Some students are also ill prepared for the university-level work and few stick with it."(Pappano 34) What this means is Gregory will never give up until…
He completed 2 yrs of college and earned an associate’s degree in business. He has always wanted to complete a Bachelor’s degree, but has not due to his work and family responsibilities(Suggest Caregiver Help). He learns best by reading the material; he does not absorb verbal information easily. He has always that “information has to be useful to bother learning it”(Design a Learning plan based on visual learning).…
The points that the author discussed that I would like to reflect on is the cost of online learning and the ability to complete a degree in a self-paced manner. Being a full-time employee and juggling a full load outside of…
Another trait that Gregory has that would help him succeed with the MOOC is his ability to be flexible. “I am able to work with any kind of jelly” (Gregory 14). In his article, he explains that he can work with anyone portraying the jelly as the person. He is flexible and can make the best out of every situation. “Students who take MOOCs do not have to sit in classrooms”(Pappano 14). Gregory would be able to adjust to the change in environment and make the best out of it.…

Terry Fox was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, but raised in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, a community near Vancouver on Canada's west coast. As an active teenager involved in many sports, in 1977 Terry was only 18 years old when he was diagnosed with bone cancer and forced to have his right leg amputated six inches above the knee.…
Today is starting off to be a wonderfully beautiful day. The cold morning air is rich with both oxygen and moisture, which smells like the recipe for power to me! As I, Sandra Sandpile, am waiting to watch the sun rise, while the birds sing. I then drifted off into a time and a place of past excitement and adventure.…
Having the comfort of lying in bed and taking online classes to earn small degrees seems great but certain people like James Gregory would do great. James Gregory is the best choice for taking a online MOOC. He has all the traits of being a successful student for taking a MOOC. He has sent a essay to a college that states that he has many good qualities.…

In 2007 high school and college football there are around 7.23 ‘’catastrophic head’’ injuries per year. This sport is dangerous because it's too brutal. So many kids play football when it's not safe for them. If you play you should at least wear the right material to play. Most kids don't wear anything to protect them against the harmful impacts that happen. ‘’Catastrophic head’’ injuries are an enormous concern in football today. Football is a dangerous game to be a part of even though it's fun to watch and fun to play. With the increase of head injuries the NFL and college programs have been introducing rule changes to prohibit players from returning to the game or to the game if they have received a concussion. I'm against football because it's too dangerous for the people that play the sport.…
The online (non-traditional) student is often challenged with issues that the traditional (campus-based) student is not; also, the online instructor does not realize the constraints placed upon the online student. Online students are a diverse group of learners from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds. Rovai (2002) stated certain characteristics could affect student persistence. An example of this is minority students feeling isolated in online courses. Online learners are also classified as independent, self-directed, autonomous, and internally motivated. They typically are 22-50 years of age, unable to enroll in campus-based classes due to other roles and responsibilities, and are lifelong learners (Diaz & Bontenbal as…
Overall, I know that I am able to accomplish online courses. I have determination and goals set for my future. In today’s world having knowledge in technology, and reading effectively are two of the major things that are needed to be successful in this ever changing world. Having the knowledge that I have will allow me to get a better job and provide for my family. I never thought I would be where I am in life right now, but it has been well worth the challenge. It is never too late to learn and become a more educated individual.…
In an article penned by Mark Taormino, President or Learning Development Partners, Inc., of Las Vegas, Nevada, he states that “matching student learning preferences with appropriate learning opportunities is of high importance. Some students might not enjoy a high level of reliance on technology mediated instruction and communication, which could lead to a decision to pursue a more traditional education delivery path.” Indeed, it is very likely that the path of online learning may not actually accomplish true learning for every type of student, and unfortunately not every individual who seeks out an education via distance learning is aware of this possibility before they begin their journey.…
Online learning is growing rapidly. There are more students choosing to go to school online then there were ten years ago. Student demand is one of the many factors contributing to the growth of online learning. Some students are looking for the opportunities of the convience that online learning offers. Technology has made it possible for teachers and students to ineract thru the internet. Online learning is beneficial to students.…
Online education is fast becoming one of the most significant areas of the digital society (Ch.8, par 1). It has become the way that many students connect to continuing their education in this fast pace world. Students from anywhere within the United States can gain access to the many colleges to continue their goals. It is the break from the traditional way of attending college. I feel it is best served for the self-motivated student who is able to work independently.…
