[Your Organization] intends to participate in the Telework Pilot Project. This will involve our using the Telework Toolkit to develop a Telework Program that suits our needs. Getting the Telework Program set up and going typically takes from 1 week to 2 months. We intend to start on it today.
Participation will include [Department Name or our overall organization]. We anticipate that [#2+] employees will participate as soon as we have developed our Telework Program, and that up to [#50] of our employees will participate over the course of the Project ~ through April 15, 2009. goal of participating workers’ teleworking at least 1 day every 2 weeks.
We have selected a Telework Contact Person. As the point person throughout the project, the contact person will report on our progress in getting the Telework Program in place and make sure that on-line and telephone project interviews and diaries are completed. Our contact person is: [Name, Title] Mail: [Address, City, WA, Zip] Email: [Email Address] Phone: [(###) ###-####]
Our contact person will be authorized to monitor participants’ fulfilling this agreement.
We realize that the on-line and telephone interviews and diaries that are part of the Telework Pilot Project are vital to refining the Telework Toolkit, so that other organizations will benefit. We commit to supporting the importance of these reports to our managers and participating workers.
We recognize that there may be challenges in setting up our Telework Program ~ issues to explore and decisions to be made: Who will be eligible for teleworking? What level of computer security do we need? Who will pay for Internet access when working off-site? There may be practical challenges in its early stages, and managers may be uncomfortable with a new style of supervision. We commit to working through these stumbling blocks and reporting them ~ our pioneer experience may help someone else later on.
The Telework Toolkit is a best-effort prototype. The goal of the Telework Pilot Project is to use, evaluate, and improve it for others’ use throughout Washington State. We understand that our use of the Telework Toolkit and our participation in the Telework Pilot Project is at our own expense and our own
risk.
