The Then,Now, And Future
Imagine this: a world with the sky darker than coffee, trees nowhere in sight, and life nowhere to be found. This is the world that is slowly being created by Global Warming, and unless actions are done this world is inevitable. 2016 was the hottest year in record, and it is believed to only get warmer and warmer as time goes. This is can also be seen in the literature “There Will Come Soft Rains” by Sara Teasdale and “August 2026: There Will Come Soft Rains” by Ray Bradbury. The Industrial Revolution may have been one of the first dominos to fall that has lead to this current situation but now on the American people. And although going green may be expensive, U.S. leaders can no longer deny the fact that Global Warming is not happening and there needs to be more green laws to help slow the effect of …show more content…
In the story “August 2026, There Will Come Soft Rains” humans blew up a whole town by dropping a bomb, and now there is no human life left alive. This proves that humans can be held responsible for the root of conflicts, and will destroy one another through technology. If nothing is changed, humans will leave nothing behind. Humans will leave the earth like the house in the poem where “the house stood alone in a city of rubble and ashes.” It is extremely sad and scary that humans would go as far as they did in the story and drop a bomb on a city. The house mentioned before was literally left with “the entire west face of the house was black, save for five places.” The white spots left on the walls, considering the wall was all black, shows that the people were annihilated from an explosion while the family was having fun outside. Even while all of this happens nature continued to thrive and continue. There was still dogs, bird, green grass, trees, etc. Nature was not going to let humans ruin
