Within RHA, we have a sub-committee, our programming committee. The end of summer bash became out main event for the semester. We had some turbulence in leadership with RHA, so when I took over programming, we decided it was better to put our energy into one big event for the semester. There are very few events on the weekends, when residents are just sitting in their rooms because they are bored. This event was aimed to enhance the experience for residents. School spirit is fairly nonexistent at this school, but this event was trying to get residents out and about and happy to be at NJIT for the weekend. Also, the idea was if we could keep having fun events on the weekends, more people would be likely to stay. I love NJIT, but nothing happens on the weekend because the school does not care as much about residents as they care about commuters.
