Assignment: Paragraphs may be developed by offering a comparison or stating a contrast.. a comparison shows how two things are alike: a contrast, how they are different. In both cases, facts incidents, concrete details may be used to point out the similarities or differences. At times a writer may even wish to use both comparison and contrast to develop a single idea.
Introduce the two subjects you will compare and contrast, and the categories they have in common. Then compare and contrast several characteristics of each subject. Use key words to connect your ideas. Conclude your paragraph by telling the reader what you believe is the most important way in which your subjects are alike or different.
