Super Mario Vs. Sonic The Hedgehog
Video gaming has always been a very entertaining hobby for many and also a thrilling pastime for others. There are thousands of different games with many more characters that people can connect with, dream about being, or even loathe. Two of the most famous and heroic characters ever created are Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog. Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog are both the main protagonists of their respective series and adventures. Although their lifestyles and personalities differ greatly, their innate sense to accomplish good and protect the innocent are qualities they share. Despite their differing origins and species, both Mario and Sonic have similar friendships, rivalries, and motives. The most differing aspect of both Mario and Sonic are their origins. Mario also has other enemies and rivals, including Donkey Kong, King Boo, and Wario and Waluigi (Mario and Luigi’s evil cousin counterparts). Along with Luigi, Mario has another faithful companion known as Yoshi. Yoshis are dragon-like creatures that come in a variety of colors. Different colored Yoshis have many different abilities which are useful whenever Mario or another hero is riding one of them. Although there are many different Yoshis, Mario is known to have one specific green Yoshi as a companion/pet simply named Yoshi. On the other hand, Sonic the Hedgehog is known as the world's fastest hedgehog. Sonic's greatest strength is his running speed, which is faster than the speed of sound. Many of his abilities are variations on the tendency for hedgehogs to roll into tight balls for protection with the addition of spinning his body. Sonic is described as a character who is "like the wind": a drifter who lives as he wants, and makes life a series of events and adventures. He is a habitual daredevil hedgehog who is honest, loyal to friends, keeps his promises, and dislikes tears. Sonic hates oppression and staunchly defends freedom. Although he is mostly easy-going

In the case of Kirby vs. Carnival, I hold Carnival Cruise Lines responsible for her injury. There are several reasons why, first the bartender is responsible for her overall consumptions of alcohol, there is a history of guests that have either fallen or jumped over board and finally there is the fact that carnival never took it upon themselves to call for air lift transportation to the nearest hospital.…

When thinking about the history of the world, one must always consider that merchants as well as trade have played an immerse role in shaping the world as it is today. They are responsible for many of the cross-cultural interactions that we have had in the past. Christianity and Islam, the two predominant religions of the world today, have both grown and spread through merchants and trade also. These two chief religions both have attitudes towards merchants and trade that have either developed or decreased overtime. According to these documents, from up to the year 1500, Christianity went from a negative view of merchants and trade to a positive view while Islam went from a positive view to a negative view, but both sides imposed on a sense of honesty.…

Nintendo has been around since the late 80s and has brought us many heroes, but none of them will ever seem to surpass the main heroes/protagonist from the Legend of Zelda and Mario Bros. franchises. These were some of the first games I ever played back when I had a regular Nintendo. Then the adventures continued on with super Nintendo, Gameboy, Nintendo 64, game cube and so on. Now granted that these are amazing games, but they are quite similar in the ways of there is damsels in distress but differentiate in the way they go about saving their damsels.…

Video games and computer games (from here on both categories will be simply referred to as video games for simplicity) have entered the domain of pop culture fairly recently. Although the first video game was developed in 1958 by William Higginbotham, their popularity didn’t occur until the seventies with the appearance of Pac-man and Frogger in the arcades (Computer and Video Games). If the younger generation of video game consumers would take a look at what was out there when the video game boom begun they wouldn’t be able to understand what was so attractive (and addictive?) about Pac-man and Frogger? The truth is, video games from over three decades ago share the same basic principles with the games we have out there right now. Let’s face it, we like video games because they provide us with interactive entertainment. In other words, we’re genuinely entertained by colorful objects that move on the TV/computer screen when we press certain buttons. I suggest that it is the overwhelming gratification that we experience from actually having absolute and unconditional control over something in our lives. Another suggestion that I have is that video games share the same elements or even directly imitate traditional games such as tag, ping-pong, chess, hopscotch etc.; video games allow us to engage in these games easily, without any stigma or significant effort on our parts. Video games are fun, inexpensive, can become a social activity allowing friends to play along, and sometimes they’re even mentally stimulating if not challenging. They’ve been a real hit every since they came out and today the video game industry has grown significantly. However, let’s examine the circle of people that are involved in production and design of video games.…

According to researcher Jeanne Funk (1993), a ban on video games is "probably not ... in the child's best interests". Limiting playing time and monitoring game selection according to developmental level and game content may be as important as similar parental management of television privileges. Parents and professionals should also seek creative ways to increase the acceptance, popularity, and availability of games that are relatively prosocial, educational, and fun. (Funk 1993)…
