A plan like this gives American law enforcement details about the terrorist's weaknesses, in order to find the best way to defeat them. In this episode, Supergirl and her support group made an effort to find out personal details about Reactron and his past. Overall, this strategy helped to put Reactron behind bars. In Supergirl's three battles with Reactron, she attempted to talk and empathize before Reactron initiated combat. In a scene before going to find Reactron at his lair, Kara said, "I'm going to talk to him like someone would talk to me" ("Fight or Flight"). When she got to Reactron's lair, she said, "I'm not here to fight!" ("Fight or Flight"). Clearly, Kara cared about the terrorist as a person and desired his well-being.
