Superman Comparison Essay

When talking about superheroes, two names come to mind: Batman aka Bruce Wayne and Superman aka Clark Kent. Even though both have the word “man” in their name, one is human with no super powers whatsoever. The other is an alien from a different planet called “Krypton”, and is more godlike than man. Superman, is a more powerful and likable hero. He has the greatest superhuman powers; that we all wish we had. Unlike Superman, Batman needs vehicles, gadgets, armour and money to help fight his battle against evil. Clark has a set of rules for right and wrong he lives by.
There are many super powers Superman has and those powers have really brought his name “Superman” to life. We can start with a list of Superman’s powers: heat and x-ray vision, super hearing,
I do agree that it is remarkable for Bruce Wayne to do what he does, but take away the gadgets, vehicles, and money; he is nothing. Deplete Bruce Wayne’s money, and he would not have any useful resources/supplies. This makes his hero status, useless. Superman, on the other hand, does not need a vehicle, money or gadgets. He can get from place to place in the blink of an eye. Superman is faster than a speeding bullet, and faster than the speed of light. He is so fast that; he can spin the world in the reverse direction and to rewind time.
Both hero’s have a code they live by, and they change/differ from our laws’ expectations. Batman’s code of ethics are “does what needs to be done, kill if need be, and he doesn’t have to answer to no one.” On the other hand, Superman lives by a code his earth father taught him very young and that is, “you decide what kind of man you want to grow into, because whoever that man is, will change the world.” It also has been a supportive ethic/code that Clark’s father of Krypton agrees with. Even though Superman is not of human heritage; this code humanizes Superman, and makes him
