Superman, but there were superheroes long before these characters were created. First one must understand that the basis of this name is hero. What is a hero? A hero is a person who does something special or out of the ordinary in order to help others. And what have these "superheroes" done for us? Wonder Woman is Princess Diana of the immortal Amazons from Greek mythology. When army pilot Steve Trevor crashed on the warriors' secluded island paradise, Diana wins the right to escort him home and made her people known to the world. Entering our cynical world for the first time, there's a lot she had to wrap her head around, especially our ways of war, hate, and, much more. Helping her are her superhuman strength and speed, as well as the trademark bulletproof bracelets, but it's probably her Golden Lasso of Truth most people really wish they had. Wonder Woman was created by William Moulton Marston, the father of the lie detector! No wonder her main weapon was the lasso of truth. Wonder Woman became an icon for women everywhere in the U.S.!
DC was very popular, but what they didn't realize was in the 1960's comic books had a new name and that was Marvel! For a long time, Marvel released mostly romance, western or suspense comics, but inNovember of 1961, Marvel released a new breed of comics.
