My overall eating habits are good. I am pretty happy with my eating habits. I get a lot of the nutrients I need. Most of the meals I eat are some what healthy. I have most of my meals at home, and I try to eat all of my fruit and vegetables. The meals I eat for breakfast are processed such as cereal and frozen waffles, but my dinners are almost always home made. For lunch at school I bring it from home, so most of the time it is homemade. . Most of the meals I eat have decent proportions. I always try to have a vegetable and a fruit. One thing I do not get enough of is dietary fiber. I need to try and get more of this from oats and beans. I need to try and get more so that I can maintain a healthy digestive track. Also, I need to eat less saturated fats because if I do not my LDL, which is the bad cholesterol will increase. To get less of this I need to eat less butter, cheese, and red meat. I need to get more potassium because it helps keep a normal water content stable between body cells and body fluid. To get more potassium I need to eat more dark leafy greens, bananas, and potatoes. I also need to get more iron. To get this I need to add ,more nuts to my diet. Beef helps in iron also, but you have to watch your saturated fats! If I don’t get more iron in my body there will be less oxygen moving in my cells. There are many more things that I need to increase. Some of these things are vitamin D,E,K, folate, and choline.
Overall I think that I eat well. There are some places that I still need to work on. One of my weaknesses is vitamins and minerals in my diet. I am going to work hard on starting to add them in. I am most proud of how well I get all of the carbs that I need for the day. I think that I eat good and get the right amount of calories each day and I exercise a lot.
