The fabulous Wide World Web

One of the most important rules of school, especially non-traditional schools, is the knowledge of how to navigate through the web and identify what sites are meant for education versus those meant for leisure. When I am searching the web for research I want to make sure I use creditable web pages and for this I have a rule of thumb that the best sites to use have the following URL’s: .org – organizational, .edu – educational,.mil –military,.gov – government. When I am not using these sites I will review the summary to make sure there are no signs of bias opinions as well as verify the dates are current, especially when puling information on hot topics.

University of Phoenix

One of the most amazing things I have found with the University of Phoenix (UOP) is how they truly want you to succeed and they provide you with different resources to complete your work. I found that using the Center for Writing Excellence (CWE), Grammar and Writing Guide, and Reference and Citation Generator have been very useful when it comes to my writing assignments. Another useful link in the UOP’s arsenal is there library; here you can find Peer Reviewed and non-Peer Reviewed literature. When navigating through the library you will find Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, links to Multimedia, Country Profiles and Economic Data to name a few

How personal competencies and work go together

My strongest dimension on the personality spectrum I believe is my never ending ambition to keep going; my drive is what has kept me at my current career when others have lost their jobs and has helped prove that I deserve the role I currently am carrying. This has always helped me to make an impression on employers. It helps me sit down and figure things out on my own

There was so much information to learn in Introduction to University Writing, it is hard for me to say what was the most important to me. Unit 1, Good Writers are Made Not Born refreshed me on the basics of writing with common misspelled words, punctuation basics , verb tenses and plurals (Chambers, 2015). I really needed this refresher on the basics of writing or the consequences might have been disastrous the farther I got into my college career. The next thing that helped me out immensely was when we worked with APA and how we learned to use the “cite” tool on EBSCO, along with using the website www. Bibme.org to make sure we use the right APA format to reference our sources. I also felt that it was very important that my facilitator recommended her students to look for an outside source, such as the Smarthinking lab or www.paperrater.com to review our writings before our final submission.…

I was and was not surprised on what the results of my personality spectrum were, I have always been aware that I’m an organizer. Personality is difficult to describe, but nearly impossible to define in a universally acceptable way. Throughout history many definitions of personality have been proposed but none universally accepted. This is because of the reality that each individual’s definition comes with a unique spin placed upon it by that individual’s life experience, surroundings, and personal viewpoint. Personality can be described as the regular presentation of certain traits and attributes that lend cohesion and uniqueness to behavior and thought (Feist & Feist, 2009). Although there is not a single, universally accepted definition of personality,…

Very rarely so we take stock in our own well-being in the workplace and even less time is spent on determining if our personalities fit within the expected model of behavior that is expected at the organization for which we are part of. Occasionally it is good to sit back and look at oneself and determine what your personality traits are and if they coincide with your goals. According to Wan Ismail and Awadh (2011), personality can be a determining factor in one’s job performance. Further research has shown that personality differentiates one person from another (Beer & Brooks, 2011) and that personality traits remain steady and stable through ones work life (Myers, 1998). Being able to understand your own personality traits is important to unlocking your own job satisfaction needs and leadership and management abilities.…

Personality is the set of emotional qualities and ways of behaving that makes a person different from other people, (Merriam-Webster, 2014). My personality is something that I have had since birth. It defines who I am and how others view me. Some people have outgoing personalities while others prefer to stay home or in other quiet places. I have always been a person that enjoys seclusion. After taking the Jung Typology Test, I now understand my personality. This test has helped me to define my strengths as well as my weaknesses which will help me in my academic career.…

Personality, like most core Psychology subjects, is difficult to define. Personality is essentially the science of describing and understanding people. No two people are the same; even identical twins will tell you that they are very different to their identical counterpart. There are some who are anxious and there are those who are risk-takers. There are some who are carefree while there are those who are highly-strung and there are those who are over-confident while some are just plain shy. It is this issue of differences that are fundamental to the study and examination of personality.…
