Survival In The Cay

There many books about survival. For example, I Survived, Hatchet and The Cay are all examples of Survival books. But in The Cay, Timothy and Phillip survive on an island. Timothy and Phillip survive correctly on the island because water source, shelter, and attitude/PMA/optimism.

To start, Phillip and Timothy survive correctly by having a good water source. In the article “Survive Nature” it states, “Use any containers you can find and set them out in order to catch any rainwater that falls. You can use large leaves to catch raindrops and funnel them into containers.” This statement shows that to survive, you need a source of water, and rainfall is a good way to help in that area.Also, in “The Cay” it states,”He had taken more boards…...and had made a large trough that would catch the rain.” This quote shows that they have a source of water like the article states, showing that they’re doing one thing right. To back this up, the article “How to survive on a desert island,” it states,“solar-still,” which will allow you to turn saltwater into distilled water...” This backs up my previous statement because Phillip and Timothy
In the article “Survive Nature” it states,”Finding shelter is an important aspect of survival. You need to find a place to rest, while protecting yourself from the elements, such as wind and rain.” This quote shows that They’re surviving right because if they didn’t build a shelter in the book, they would be exposed to the rain, and other stuff. To back this up, in “The Cay” it states,”He was making a hut from dried palm fronds.” This quote shows that they built a shelter, and to protect themselves from the rain. Again, it “The Cay” it states,”The rain sounded like bullets hitting on the dried palm frond roof.” This quote shows that their shelter was effective and that the shelter helped them in the long run.
