At the Philadelphia Museum of Art, I have selected “The Last Drop.” The painting was painted by Judith Leyster on 1609. It is done in oil on canvas and the size of the painting is almost the same like any others that about a foot wide, length and width. The condition of the painting seems to be in a new condition, as if the painting was never touched at all. The texture of this painting have a smooth and rigid touch to it. The painting is consisted of one man is sitting on a chair binge drinking that looks like an alcoholic beverage, the second man is seen standing wearing a flamboyant dress as he is seen dancing while smoking and holding a cup, as he seems to ignore the first guy. The third one is a skeleton lurking behind the man drinking,…

These first chapters describe the effort, as well as the various methods, that Swope employed to help her children lead lives that were as normal as possible. Many times throughout the book, Swope lauds Classical Education, as the key to all her children's successes, but the time and effort that Swope put into training her children…

Susan Pfeffer’s story “Ashes” teaches a lesson about how trust is decided on past, not relationships. Ashleigh, “Ashes”, with divorced parents, talks about how when she is with her dad, the sun shines just a little bit brighter, but according to her mother, he is just an “irresponsible bum”. Ashes was a nickname her father gave her, which her mother hates. Ashes, says that her father hardly ever keeps a promise, such as when she was a kid, he told her that the stars were her necklace. Long ago, there was a tinker, named Pedro, who came to the town of Toledo. Everyday, he would hear people talk about the haunted stone castle. And when he was inside, while cooking his supper on the skillet, he heard strange sounds. He felt that it was the ghost, so, he invited the ghost to have dinner with him. The ghost told him to look out because he was coming. The ghost came out of the chimney, first, a leg, and then another leg then an arm, another arm, the body, and finally, the head. The ghost put himself together and explained to Pedro why no one ever came back from his castle. He said that when his leg would come down, they would either be frightened to death or just simply run away. The ghost asked Pedro a favor and being the kind man that he was, Pedro did not refuse the favor. The ghost explained that he once stole three bags of coins from thieves and hid them all in his castle. When the thieves found him, they chopped his body up. The ghost told Pedro that he buried the three bags of coins by a tree in his courtyard. They went out and Pedro started digging. He found the first bag, a bag of silver coins, next, a bag of copper, then lastly, a bag of gold coins. The ghost told Pedro to give the copper to…
