Abstract
Sustainable development is a knowledge-based set of practices. A knowledge based society and knowledge sharing environment can make the development process sustainable and goals of the development process achievable. Gilgit-Baltistan is a remote region of Pakistan situated in the north part of the country. Being a rural area it has been subject to the development process by many NGO’s, donor agencies and government agencies. For the past two decades many projects have been initiated on various scales but these initiatives need sustainability.
