Suzy And Leah By Jane Yolen Summary
The main character in Jane Yolen’s “Suzy and Leah” is Leah, a german born Jew. Leah is a refugee living in a refugee camp in America. Leah writes in her diary and is practicing English every day to get better. So she can live in a new world and on a new land.
At the beginning of the story Leah was in a refugee camp in America and saw this girl with yellow hair bring sweets and an orange fruit and she falsely smiled at the rest of the refugees her name is Suzy. Then at school, the teacher pairs Leah with Suzy, Leah wished that she could have a different student to help. Also, Leah thinks Suzy treats her like a pet and feeds her like an animal behind bars.
