Suzy and Leah

One of the characters in the story “Suzy and Leah” by Jane Yolen is Leah. Her full name is Leah Shoshana Hershkowitz, she is a refuge, “with two dark braids and bangs nearly covering her eyes.” Her relationship with a girl named Suzy changed a lot, they got to know each other, and they became friends.
In the beginning, Suzy and Leah did not know each other or quite like each other either. Leah was wearing Suzy's old dress, although Leah didn't want to wear the dress, Suzy didn't want Leah to wear it either. Suzy always brought oranges for the kids but Leah never took any, she felt the people who took them were like wild animals or prisoners. Suzy had to teach Leah English which neither of them liked Suzy asked for a different
