The purpose of this lab was to determine whether the type of solvent will change if sugar can dissolve in it. For this experiment, 50 mL of water, rubbing alcohol, and vegetable oil were poured into different beakers with 1 gram of sugar and stirred for a minute to see if the sugar has the ability to dissolve within the solvent. It was hypothesized that if the solvent was changed, then there would be different amounts of sugar that can dissolve in it.
