Pharmacokinetic application for this method was performed in Sprague Dawely rats. Resperidone and fluxotine were made into suspension using 2% tweem 80. Male rats weighing 200± 20 g administered simultaneously with risperidone mg/kg and fluoxetine 0.3 mg/kg after overnight fasting. Blood was withdrawal from the retro-orbital vein under partial anesthesia at ….,….. h post dosing. Plasma separated by centrifugation of blood at 3500 rpm for 5min. The sample kept frozen at -80 °C till analysis.…
We placed the zinc inside the beaker and slowly poured the hydrochloric acid into the beaker. As soon as the acid entered the beaker, there was a sizzling sound and bubbles started to form as we add more of the substance in. When the bubbles were forming, we could see a steam of gas coming out of the beaker. After 10 minutes, we noticed bits of zinc were floating on top of the hydrochloric acid and lining the beaker. I lifted the beaker and felt the bottom and it felt warm, which meant the reaction was still happening. After 20 minutes, we added water into the zinc and hydrochloric acid to stop the reaction and we observed a slight cloudy colour (still clear) forming as we slowly pour the water in the beaker.…

My results did not support my hypothesis. The mammals kept in captivity were healthier than the mammals in the wild, due to controlled setting, and regular nutritious diet. However their behavior was negatively impacted. They were nervous and somewhat hostile towards…
My results supported my hypothesis. The mammals in captivity were healthier because they had cleaner food and had veterinarians to take care of them. When the mammals were placed around other animals they acted nervous and aggressive due to the lack of being around other…
4. Why does George order Lennie not to talk when they arrive at the ranch?…
Of Mice and Men is an American novel written by John Steinbeck about two itinerant workers who move from place to place. One itinerant worker named George is a small, smart, caring worker. While on the contrary the other itinerant worker name Lennie is a huge, clumsy, naïve character. The story is set in a remote place a few miles south of Soledad. The south is usually the best place to live due to the climate of the area. Soledad is the Spanish word for loneliness and solitary. The two itinerant workers pursue their dream of getting their own farm. During their journey George and Lennie encounter many difficulties along the way. It was not uncommon for itinerant workers to suffer from loneliness, isolation and alienation. These three terms are the terms that will be explained in my essay.…
Of Mice and Men teaches a grim lesson about the predatory nature of human existence. At some point in Steinbeck’s novella, each character admits to feeling a profound sense of loneliness, save for George and Lennie. They feel so isolated that they are rendered helpless, and even still they seek to destroy others weaker than themselves for power. Perhaps the most significant example of this cruel tendency is when Crooks criticizes Lennie’s dream of the farm. Crooks knows that while Lennie may be physically strong, he is intellectually weak, and Crooks could not help but take advantage of him. However, Crooks himself has his own vulnerabilities; being the only black man for miles places a heavy feeling of isolation. Only after nearly reducing…
Most people would agree that beliefs are powerful. However, many people don’t know that our beliefs and expectations can impact our reality and the reality of others. They can even help the blind see. Which may mean that believing really is seeing. The amazing story of how our expectations shape people’s lives, as well as the research done on this topic, is presented by the hosts of the Invisibilia radio show on an episode entitled “How to Become Batman”.…
In John Steinbeck’s novel Of Mice and Men characters in the novel are segregated by sex, race, age, physical and mental disabilities. John Steinbeck portrays the intolerance and bigotry of 1930’s America through the separation of his characters based on their handicaps. Lennie, Candy, Candy’s dog, Curley’s wife and Crooks all face social pressure from the other characters on the ranch based on their intelligence, physical disability, age, sex and color. Stereotyping based on ethnic or physical characteristics is typical to the 1930’s depression where civil rights for minority groups had not yet been addressed. Almost all of the characters who, in the 1930’s, classify as a minority in Of Mice and Men face social persecution and feel the force of society’s preconceived notions about the color of their racial and physical features. Because of this social persecution Lennie and George find that it is truly impossible to achieve the American Dream because of the segregation. This segregation causes conflict between the characters in the novel and causes those who hold the majority to not only maintain the majority but also to suppress those who comprise the minority.…
People have been discriminating each other since the beginning of humanity, and the twentieth century is no exception. Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck does a magnificent job at showcasing the kinds of discrimination that people had gone through. Of Mice and Men is a book based in the early 1900s that follows the story of two migrant workers, George and Lennie, who are working towards their dream of sharing a small plot of land and finally living the life of stability and happiness that they have always wanted. While George and Lennie are working towards their dreams, the readers get a front row seat to many different types of discrimination including racism, sexism, ableism, ageism, and sizeism. Curley’s…
The trial of George for the murder of Lenny was very complicated. It was clear to me there was no malice or premeditation in this murder case. However, justice had to be served for the loss of life. I was the third prosecuting attorney in this case and felt the sentencing was fair and just.…
In stage one, the hole count was left at fourteen. The mice were not on any psychoactive substances at this time. The white mouse was able to find her way to the end of the maze at 1 minute. She showed signs of stress, and overall anxiousness. The brown mouse was slower then her counterpart, completing the maze at 2 minutes and 53 seconds. She also showed signs of stress and discomfort. Lastly, the black mouse found the cheese in 10 seconds, but discovered and explored the whole maze in 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Overall, these weren’t bad scores for mice that were in their normal state of mind. Besides the stress and anxiety of me trying to catch them, picking them up, and putting them in a mysterious box with the exits closed off, the mice…
Mice that live in sand dunes commonly have light tan fur because it allows them to blend in with the environment and hide from predators. In order to test this hypothesis, the researcher could place mice with light tan fur in a variety of environments different than the sand dunes. After being placed in the different environments the mice would be exposed to predators and observations will be made to see if the mice's ability to camouflage with their surroundings leads to less attacks made by the…
In Of Mice And Men, John Steinbeck, the author, illustrates one of the main characters, Lennie, as beastly and animal-like. Steinbeck illustrates Lennie’s characteristics through his actions and descriptions. For example, in the very beginning, Steinbeck describes the scene where Lennie first appears…
