Australian Unity has a current infrastructure to respond to the planned redistribution of demands daily. With our existing 50,000 clients and 4,000 community staff who are mostly employed on a permanent part-time basis, we will be able to meet local fluctuations of demand for services. This is especially since most of our staff currently live in areas which this ComPacks program cover, allowing us to be able to ride on existing capacity to very quickly respond to ramped up requirements. This is supplemented with a panel of brokerage agencies (all of which undergo very extensive and robust quality assurance processes) for last minute (e.g. less than a week's notice) requirements.     USAA Savings Bank has been around for a long time believe it or not. In 1922 USAA was originally founded in San Antonio, Texas when 25 Army officers decided to come together and insure each other’s automobiles. William Garrison was USAA’s first elected president. Shortly after that USAA’s first employee was Harold Dunton, who was hired as a general manager. Major Walter Moore purchased the first automobile insurance policy for $114.74 and became USAA’s first member. Two years later in 1924 USAA printed their first credo. The company motto was “Service to the Services.” 1928 was the year that USAA started advertising 8,000 active component service members among 38,000 possible. In 1929 things started turning for the worse, as the stock market crashed and the Great Depression followed shortly after. By the end of the 1920’s USAA earned a net profit of $144,000 before dividends. From 1930’s on up USAA has been incredibly successful. 1931-1940 USAA’s employee population grows even through the Great Depression. Employee numbers sky rocketed and doubled, from 46 to 99. The company’s membership doubles from 15,000 to 30,000, despite the ongoing tough economic times. 1932 the first Annual Report to its members was established and published. A year later USAA exceeds minimum reserve holdings mandated by the Texas Board of Insurance Commissioners and returns $230,000 to members. In 1934 Stuart Gwyn is the first woman to join USAA’s management team. USAA graduated to having 60% of all eligible U.S. military officers become members in 1936 while also being able to end the decade with a net profit of $643,000 before dividends.…

    Indiana University (IU) Health Paoli Hospital is a Critical Access Hospital in southern Indiana. IU Health Paoli serves a rural population and offers obstetrical (OB) services. The OB department offers an individualized family centered birthing setting. The hospital delivers around 130 babies annually. The mission of the OB department is to offer a personalized compassionate delivery of care and provide a quality outcome for mother and newborn. The staff on OB is all registered nurses (RN), certified in in-patient obstetrics and electronic fetal monitoring. All 14 staff members are neonatal resuscitation and advanced cardiac life support providers. 2 of the 14 RN’s are internationally board certified lactation consultants and have an 83% breastfeeding rate at discharge. Labor support offered is hydrotherapy, birthing ball, epidural and they also offer vaginal birth after cesarean. Six family practice physicians offer obstetrical services at the hospital and three of the physicians offer cesarean section services. The 2012 Annual statistics for the OB department reflected a primary cesarean rate of only 13% and no early elective deliveries prior to 39 weeks gestation. All RN’s and physicians are focused on quality, compassionate care and outcomes. All standards of care and core measures for OB care of followed and implemented to the fullest degree. The OB Nurse Director is very passionate about quality outcomes and staying patient centered with the delivery of care, decisions and policies. A special quality that all nurse’s and physicians possess on this unit is each patient, birth is a miracle.
