Sydnie In Jane Austen's Same Kind Of Different As Me
Same Kind of Different as Me was an impactful and emotional book and a great read. This story of friendship shows that everyone can make a difference, and that even though we are all from different backgrounds, people are more alike than we aren’t.

I chose to write my response about one of my best friends Sydnie who went to BCS for the last few years. She was one of my closest friends and an amazing person. We started to become friends when she came to BCS when we were in 4th grade. We were friends, but another one of my friends named Danyella became good friends, and that helped to bring us together. From hanging out with Danyella, I got to know Sydnie better, and eventually after Danyella left BCS, Sydnie and I became great friends.

Sydnie is someone who was always there for me, and someone I can trust. I can count on Sydnie for advice on anything from school to life. She is someone who is always there for you. Sydnie is also a phenomenal Christian. She is a good influence, and I have learned valuable lessons from her about faith, and she is someone who builds up everyone around her. Sydnie has worked with an organization called Revive which her dad also works with on many occasions. She has shared the gospel with people, and she works to bring people to Christ. She has said that she wants to become a missionary to Madagascar. I would say without any doubt that Sydnie shows her faith through action more than anyone in my grade, and possibly in the school. At the end of the year, when we had to vote on Spiritual Awards, some of my classmates and I agreed that Sydnie could win all of them. I learned from Sydnie to be more bold about my faith, and to do my best in everything. The most meaningful impact Sydnie had on me however, was being a good influence, and reminding me through her character that I need to be a good influence. I have realized that I need to work better on displaying the Fruit of the Spirit in my life. Sydnie understands that if people just remember you for being good at athletics, school, or achievements you’ve made, you didn’t do your job. The most important thing to be remembered for is good character, and remembered as a good person. Overall, Sydnie is someone who is able to show her faith through her actions every day, and is a positive

Her life shows that I should completely trust in the Lord in all times in my life through the good and bad. She showed complete faith and trust when she read the Bible in the face of death. So, in times in trouble or adversity in my life, I should trust in the Lord. For example, when I am having a hard time with school, sports, and relationships, I know that I should trust in God and that he will guide me through everything. Her life could also influence my activeness in my faith. Sister Dorothy was a true steward of the Earth and also took care of other people. Her faith was so strong it could be seen through her actions. Thus, her life could serve as a precedent of how I should live out my faith. I should be a steward of the earth. For example, I could do something like raising awareness for taking care of the earth to something small like recycling or picking up litter around me. Most importantly, her life also influences me to live as Jesus taught us which is to serve and love…

Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre tells the story of Jane’s growth and development as she searches for a meaningful existence in society. Author Faith McKay said, “No matter what your family happens to be like…it affects who you are. It matters.” Jane is an orphan, forced to battle a cruel guardian, a patriarchal society, and a rigid social order. (Anderson, “Identity and Independence in Jane Eyre”) Jane has concrete beliefs in what women deserve, as well as obtainable goals for how she imagines her place in society as a woman (Lewkowicz, “The Experience of Womanhood in Jane Eyre”) and with self-growth, Jane Eyre was able to define herself as well as equip herself with wisdom and…

Victorian mores are the unspoken rules known and observed by society. In the eighteen-hundreds several mores were very important including justice, Christianity, high standards of honesty and morality, and women’s roles. All good people are part of a family, a Christian family and women are to serve men as they stand unequal to them. Marriage is simply a tool to gain more money and connections, and only people of the same social class are worthy of each other. Whichever social class someone is born into they remain in unless of course they are rich or beautiful, the poor and plain are simply there to be the butlers, maids and governesses of those who are high up. Several of these mores are demonstrated and contradicted in Charlotte Bronte’s 1847 masterpiece Jane Eyre. Jane Eyre is the life story of a young heroin that faces incredible odds and terrible situations and still manages to follow her heart and morals through an exciting life that leads her to a blissful ending. Charlotte Bronte uses her narrative to display several of the Victorian mores and demonstrate why they’re important, and alternately disprove the significance of others.…

I can easily relate to your response, especially when you discussed writing about boring topics in elementary school. In writing, I like to be able add my own creativity, opinion and twist on things. One of the many reasons why I dreaded preparing for the STARR test every year, because there is no way to fit a well developed essay in twenty-six lines. Besides that, I am fond of reading your point of view regarding Eva Hoffman. Even though, I cannot imagine moving to a foreign place, I can imagine what those individuals have done to fit in. High school is strenuous, and I think everyone has said or done something just to fit in. Your response was well thought out and I enjoyed reading your perspective. Keep up the great work and have a great…

Polar opposites would be the best way to describe two of the Dashwood sisters, Marianne and Elinor from Sense and Sensibility written by Jane Austen. Marianne has more sensibility than sense because she tends to be irrational and acts based on her emotions. Elinor is the opposite and has more sense than sensibility because she is always careful to think about possible consequences of her actions and is very shy and collective.…

Samantha was my savior and protector till the struggle of social life took over our compact minds. I remember when Samantha and I first met in Kindergarten; I had just back to Fort Hood from Germany and hardly spoke English. I was the middle of the school year, kids had just come back from winter break and everybody knew each other by then but me. My new teacher had seated me next to Samantha and Sam welcomed me warmly. Sam would help me with assignments and talking to other kids and stood up for me against cruel kids when no one else would from kindergarten to third grade. I saw her as not only my best friend, but also my hero. However, Sam became more distant throughout the years and started talking to me less, but I didn't think anything…

Throughout high school, there have been many people who have inspired me, but the one who has left the most impact on my life is Courtney Chumley. She was my Algebra II teacher sophomore year. At the beginning of that year, I had a negative attitude towards her for two reasons: she seemed very rude and snobby and simply because she taught math. All of those negative feelings quickly faded away when I realized what a wonderful and caring person she was. I’m not really sure how we became friends, if I’m honest, I just found myself coming to talk to her more often. Whenever that school year ended, I was worried that we would lose the bond that we formed throughout the school year, but I could not have been more wrong.…

I am very lucky to have your as my best friend. I can’t believe it been two years since we graduate from high school. I remember in high school when both of us were discussing which colleges we should apply. I really glad that we both choose to attend a community college instead of a four-year college. I know that we both went to different community colleges but we were still very close and had the same experience. I can’t believe that I am attending Iowa State next fall and of course I will miss…

We are constantly going through things that changes us, big and small changes, everything we do makes a difference in our life. Some more than others. Thinking of what has brought the most historical significance in my life is easy, and never did I imagine this could very well shape the rest of my life. Throughout my senior year of high school, these kids had more of an impact on me, than all 3 previous years combined. They were loving, inviting, and honestly sometimes a pain in the butt, even through the bad stuff, they’ve taught me more than they could ever know. I will always be appreciative for how they have shaped me throughout my senior year.…

Lastly, the final chapter in my story, for now, is my oldest sister going to college. She is attending Baldwin Wallace and is majoring in physical therapy. She chose BW because they offered her a scholarship for her grades. When my sister was home, we did not really get along until the summer before she left. There were so many changes in our life because of the loss of our grandpa, her graduation, her attending college, and traveling to the Dominican Republic for a mission trip to build homes. Her experiences on the mission trip helped me realize how much we are taught by attending St Paul High School and what I have been taught by my family. This is a defining moment in my life because her going away, strengthened my relationship with her.…

In the novel Sense and Sensibility, the biggest bright points is around the two heroines--the Dashwood sisters,Elinor and Marianne. The former is a sensible, rational creature, while the later is wildly romantic, which was represented on one thing that when the Dashwood family have to leave Sussex and move to Dever, for the sensible daughter Elinor, the move is painful separation from the man she loves. However, her sentimental sister Marianne find in the new place the romance which she likes. The two different personalities give the basic matericals of sense and sensibility. This passage catches the two characteristics by comparing and contrasting them to put forward to the correct attitude of sense and sensibility to deal with marriage and other things.…
