COURSE GOALS
This course helps the student understand that health of mind and body is intertwined. The mind has an enormous impact on the body and its health and well being.We are always running, always stressed out. This course should help us to open our eyes to the fact that we need to open our eyes to how we can achieve real health, if we take some of the insights we will be reading and discussing to heart.
ASSESSMENT OUTCOMES
1. To understand the Physiology of stress and know that you can’t cure it, but have to learn to live with it.
2. Understand various coping mechanisms.
3. Identify emotions like anger and fear and how they affect us mind and body

5. Steps to institute Journal Writing as a way to vent or let off steam
6. Creative Problem solving
7. A better understanding of nutrition and physical exercise as a mind and body destressor

COURSE OUTLINE
Week 1
Students will read Part 1, chaps 1, 2, and 3
The course will be discussed.
