The Ratatouille made by Remy for Anto symbolizes the Eucharist. Ratatouille, being a common food, symbolizes the use of bread and wine as the body and blood of Jesus because all are easily found and can be consumed by anyone no matter what economic class they are in, also the vegetables in the ratatouille in the movie are shaped like the Eucharist.

This lesson relates to the Eucharist in two ways, one being the arrangement of your hands when accepting the Eucharist, and the other being the organization and use of everything during the celebration of the Eucharist. The lesson to keep your arms tight and by your side while cooking relates to the arrangement of your hands while receiving the Eucharist because they are both set formations that are to be followed. Keeping your station organized and clean relates to the organization of the celebration of the Eucharist because of the GIRM and the 1969 Order of Mass. The GIRM tell us the “manner of celebrating mass and the duties of the various ministers involved in the celebration” . The 1969 Order of Mass gives us the choreography of the liturgy like how the ambo is used for the proclamation of the scripture and how the Eucharistic rites are done at the altar.
