Symbolism In A Political Cartoon
Robert Pittman World History Take Home Test

Political Cartoon:
A. This Cartoon shows that the workers protest never worked. It also shows that when they protest they end up getting attacked and hurt. Protesting never worked out for the workers because they were too week and too few of them to fight about against the soldiers.

B.1. The soldiers have weapons while the workers didn’t have anything to fight back with except for their bare hands. They couldn’t even afford to buy weapons if they wanted too.
2. From looking at the picture you can see that the soldiers look fat, while all the workers on the ground are all skinny. This shows that the soldiers have been eating very good and also healthy, while the workers are barley eating.
3. The soldiers are even riding around on horses; the workers are all below them on their feet trying to fight back. The soldiers have way more equipment than the workers have.
4. In the cartoon you can see someone yelling out orders, this shows that the soldiers actually have a leader. The workers didn’t have any type of leader; the soldiers were way more prepared to fight than the workers ever will be.
5. You can tell the workers are losing because you can see them all getting run over on the ground. Even though the workers probably can no longer fight back, the soldiers still continue to do damage to them.

C. 1.Exaggeration-The picture is exaggerating the weight of the soldiers to show that they are eating way healthier than the poor workers are. The soldiers are way more fit than the workers; therefore they are much stronger than them which made it even harder for the workers to fight back.
2. Symbolism- The flag symbolizes a confederate flag. This is how you know the soldier’s fighting against the protesting workers are from down south.
3. Irony- The irony in this carton is that the workers cannot fight back, and they are defenseless. Essay:
One of the economic systems during the

    A) Here are the estimates of illness and deaths at Valley Forge. (Dec.1777- Feb.1778) . The total number of soldiers at Valley Forge on Dec.23, 1777 was 12,000 and on Feb.1, 1778 it dropped to 8,000. so that mean 4,0000 people either some died or left. the number of illness during Encampment on Dec.23, 1777 was 2,898 people with illness and on Feb.1, 1778 3,989 people with illness. so more people got illness in February than December so there losing soldiers that's not a good thing. Then people about 1,800 to 2,500 died in…

First thing’s first, anyone who encounters this wonderfully constructed book, What They Fought For, by James M. McPherson, must acknowledge his great work. McPherson is one of the few historians worth reading; this is coming from a Kinesiology major who wants little to nothing to do with historians. I strongly believe that this marvelous piece of art work has no flaws or weaknesses, yet has many strong points.…

The Civil War was one of the bloodiest wars fought by the Unites Sates of America. The Civil war was fought in the South, known as the Confederate Sates, and the North, the Union. The North’s and the South’s differences were based on slavery. Southerners had an agricultural way of life, using slaves as farm tools. The use of slaves in the South was common and considered essential for a farm. But the North opposed to the South’s ways. They believed it was inhumane to use someone for free labor, despite their long, hard working hours. Finally the South was fed up and seceded, calling for war. The war, although, did not happen over night. A series of existential threats had built up and had finally exploded. Four of the major threats were the…
