The “n” word was used over 160 times in Mr.Twain's book. Twain used the word to express another word for a slave and to show us how that word was used back in that time period. Most, but not all middle schoolers nowadays recognize the word as word or label that is meant to describe a black person. We can not risk the chances of having those who are not yet fully matured taking this book in the wrong way and causing trouble and pain to those around them. What I mean is we don’t want middle schoolers taking these words and using them in their vocabulary. Also, we don’t want our children getting harassed or to be harassing others.
According to “The Issue of Huckleberry Finn,” text they have had multiple people asking to have the book removed because their black daughter or son were getting harassed because of the language used in the book. Personally, I feel like that draws the line. If kids are getting harassed because of the book then we should be banning the book until our children are older and more mature enough to handle the
