Things To Think About When Buying A UTV Trailer

To get the most enjoyment out of your UTV, you'll want to ride it in a variety of surroundings. To do that, you'll need a trailer to haul the UTV from place to place. There are two basic options in UTV trailers. One is the enclosed trailer, and the other is the open variety. Each of these has different styles available. Here are some things to consider that will help you make the best choice when you're ready to buy.

You need a convenient way to get the UTV onto the trailer. This can be done in a variety of ways. Think about what is the easiest for you taking into account where you will usually park the trailer. If it will be a crowded parking lot, then you may want to buy an open tilt trailer that lowers one end to the ground so you can drive right up it. You could also buy tracks or a ramp, but a ramp often needs additional space beyond the length of the trailer. You can buy trailers with a ramp at the end or a ramp at the side. These work best when you can park in an open space.

Weight And Dimensions

Important things to factor are the weight of the trailer you choose as well as its length and width. First, find out how much weight your vehicle can pull. If you have a truck, you shouldn't have to worry, but if you have a compact car,

One of these protects your UTV from rain and snow. If you can park the trailer on your property, you can even use it as a garage for protecting your UTV when you aren't using it. Plus, the trailer can act as shelter if it rains while you're out riding. Another advantage of keeping your UTV in an enclosed trailer is the added security it provides when you take road trips. You won't have to worry about your UTV when you stop at a hotel or take a break at a restaurant. Keeping your UTV in a trailer on your property will keep curious neighbor kids off it and make it harder for someone to steal

Beware of light trailer loads - The more weight you have on your wheels, the more braking traction you have. Therefore, the wheels on an empty or lightly loaded trailer are more prone to locking up and skidding. The same is true of the rear wheels of your tractor which get traction from the weight of the trailer pressing down on the hitch. When pulling an empty trailer, allow more braking distance.…

The first thing that you may notice is the extra tall tires. The backs are fifty inches tall. Normally the tractors only have forty-six inch tall tires. And the fronts are thirty-eight inches tall opposed to the thirty four inch tires on others. Having these larger tires makes the tractor able to go faster. This will also set the tractor up higher and make it easier to see in your wagon if in the grain cart. Also make it less likely to knock down tall crops when spraying your fields. The only real disadvantage to these tires is that you will have one more step that you will have to climb to get into the cab. This is not a problem for me but my grandfather is not a fan of it. That is why he only drives it then you don’t have to climb in and out of it very much. He is a very smart man.…
