Taarp Executive Summary

The Office of the Special Inspector General for the Troubled Asset Relief Program (SIGTARP) was established at the Department of the Treasury under the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008. The mission of SIGTARP is to conduct, supervise, and coordinate audits and investigations of the purchase, management, and sale of assets by the Secretary under the TARP. We are looking for people to join our team as we take on our responsibility to oversee this historic program and its participants.This position will be open until May 29, 2017. The first list of candidates from which management may make a selection will be issued after the job has been open for four weeks. Additional lists of candidates will be issued every five weeks until the announcement closes. The closing date of the announcement may be extended, if necessary. Candidates need not reapply to receive consideration after the initial cut-off.

The Special Inspector General for the Troubled Asset Relief Fund has the authority to appoint highly qualified re-employed annuitants with a salary offset (reduction) waiver. Appointments may be permanent or temporary,
not to exceed one year, which may be extended yearly. All re-employed annuitants serve at the will of the agency head and appointments do not confer tenureThe incumbent will report to the Special Agent in Charge (SAC) or, as designated, the Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC), of the Investigations Division, and will be responsible for leading and conducting extremely sensitive, complex and often time-critical investigations which are civil, criminal, and administrative in nature. In addition, it is expected that the incumbent be recognized for their leadership in highly complex cases involving many investigative agencies..

The applicant will conducts investigations into breaches of ethics or laws involving TARP programs, including developing work plans to establish methodology of the investigation, identifying and questioning witnesses, including follow-up, handling of evidence, and developing Reports of Investigation (ROIs) in accordance with established investigative procedures.Reviews incoming allegations for investigative merit of delicate and sensitive investigations, identifying the issues to be investigated and the policy and/or operating procedures that are applicable, and recommends appropriate disposition.The applicant reviews incoming allegations for investigative merit of delicate and sensitive investigations, identifying the issues to be investigated and the policy and/or operating procedures that are applicable, and recommends appropriate disposition.

The salary ranges to about $100,246.00 to $130,325.00 / Per Year
