In a physical education program one of the largest content area as well as one of the most loved by students is the playing of games. Most students who are in their early years of schooling have usual very little exposure to competitive games especially those requiring a strong set of tactical awareness. Where in Tactical Games Model(TGM) the teacher plans a sequence of learning tasks, leading to a full version of a game. Some highlights to the Tactical Game Model. First, when students hear they will be playing a game in school they immediately become excited, but once a teacher tells students that they must first do some practice drills they will almost always rebel. That is what is great about TGM, students are always engaged in game-like play and it makes them feel they are playing a game even when they are practicing a skill. Second, the problem with the traditional model is that students are rarely ready for the complexities of game play or do not possess the tactical knowledge needed to carry on a game. Even though students may know how to dribble a soccer ball or shoot a goal they are missing so very important key skills needed to be effective on the field. The TGM gives students those skills by teaching tactical strategies to use during the game. Skills like defense on both sides of the field and offensive skills and even goalie skills. The great thing about these skills is that they can be transferred to other games with similar features.
