Taj Mahal
Big as sky, white as a ray of light and pure as love, that's what I thought when, I first saw The Taj Mahal – one of the Seven Wonders of the World. This splendid masterpiece of architecture was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Arjumand Banu who was later known as Mumtaz Mahal, which means, the Distinguished of the Palace. On a school trip, I got my first chance to visit this beautiful gift of love. Although city of Agra, where Taj Mahal is situated, is just a few hours drive away from my home town, I never got chance to visit The Taj Mahal before. I was very much excited about the trip, as big and beautiful buildings always appeal to me, and on this trip I was going to see one of the beautiful buildings in the world, and that's with my friends! We started our trip from our school itself; and after three hours of singing and having good time with friends in a school bus, we reached the Agra. Our first stop was the hotel where we have to stay wile touring the Agra and it's near by town for four days. After having a quick meal in that hotel, I was ready to see my dream coming true, just a few minuets drive and I was in front of most beautiful mausoleum on Earth, its beauty and charm is undefined, but as I mention before, it was huge and white and I was unable to take my eyes off from it, when I was looking at Taj, I was in some other world, I got so much attracted from the work of sculptors, masons, craftsmen, and calligraphers who was called from Persia, Ottoman Empire and Europe to work on construction of the Taj that, I was simply straying it from out side without realizing that my whole class group is already moved inside the it! And when I came back from my imagination world I realize that I was lost, none of my friend was with me and I am standing alone in between hundreds and thousands of people. First I was scared but, I don't know from where I got full of confidence and I saw a police man there and told him my whole

Starting at the base of the Taj Mahal all sis elements of visual design, line, space, light and color, texture, pattern, and time and motion are all present. The Taj Mahal was completed in 1648 C.E. after 22 years of construction by Muslim Emperor Shan Jahan and master architect Ustad Isa. The Taj was erected on a square base that measures 186 x 186 feet, with the four corners truncated, which created an unequal octagon. Immediately upon first sight one can see the self-replicating geometry and symmetrical design. Varieties of lines are visible from straight lines of the base to the round dome 213 feet above. Each archway is exactly the same shape, pointed arch, but not all equal in size. Gems, designs and calligraphy can be found inside and out of the white marble masterpiece. The white marble design gives it a smooth texture and clean appearance. Depending on the time and light it will appear to change color, some say this identifies the moods of women. The color is reflected from the light and red sandstone used to construct surrounding structures. The reflection of the Taj can be seen on the Jumna River that flows on the backside of the Taj Mahal.…

We reached Darjeeling by Toy Train and lodged in a hotel for a week. From the first day we started going out for sight-seeing. I was greatly charmed by the scenic beauty of the mountain forests, tea-gardens and the sky-kissing peak of the snow-covered Kanchanjungha. We visited the attractive spots like the zoo, the Victoria Falls, the Lebong race-course, the highest race- cource in the world. We also saw the ropeway from the North Point to the Rangit Valley. One dawn, we visited the Tiger Hill from where we had a wonderful view of the sunrise. It was a rare experience to us. The Mall was another attractive spot where we walked about in the afternoon.
