Tajmahal Informative Speech
What would you say if your significant other came home one day and told you he or she built a tomb for you because you were loved so much? In India, it is considered the jewel of Muslim art but classified as a mausoleum. This white marble structure, built in honor of a wife is none other than the Taj Mahal."
It is the grandest building in Asia, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Built under Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favorite wife Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj Mahal is now considered a World Heritage Site and is protected by UN conventions that are designed to recognize monuments with enduring significance to our culture....".
Shah Jahan met Mumtaz Mahal at the age of fourteen and fell in love at the first sight. She was a Muslim Persian princess and Shah Jahan was the son of the Mughal Emperor Jehangir. In The Year 1612 they got married. Mumtaz Mahal was an inseparable companion of Shah Jahan. She died in year 1631, while giving birth to their 14th child. She had borne Shahjahan fourteen children, of whom four sons and three daughters survived. When Mumtaz Mahal died, she was just 39 years old. Some people believe that during her last moments, Mumtaz Mahal obtained a promise from Shah Jahan that he will build world's most beautiful monument in her memory. But this is not proven till date. Regardless of the beliefs Shah Jahan did build a magnificent monument as a tribute to her wife, which we today know as the Taj Mahal. Shah Jahan himself also lies entombed in this mausoleum along with his wife.
Its Construction Started In The Year 1631. It Took Around 22 Years To Build This Monument. It Is Made Completely Out Of White Marble Which At That Time Was Imported In India From Central Asia. It Took Around 20,000 Laborers And Around 800-1000 Elephants. The Expenditure of the Whole Construction Approximately 32 Million Rupees Which Would Probably Be Around 68000 USD. The Construction Was Completed In The Year 1653.
Soon after the Taj Mahal's completion,

“There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.” As William Shakespeare states in Hamlet, we are constantly learning and redefining the borders and boundaries of our knowledge. This is true not only of our own internal minds but collectively as it pertains to research where we know something works, but we can’t explain how it works. The vine of the soul or Ayahuasca transcends the mundane world of our everyday lives and grants passage to vistas known only to initiates. Ayahuasca, also known in the Portuguese language as Hoasca, has been enlightening the indigenous tribes of Brazil for centuries. In addition, ayahuasca is mainly consumed in tea form. Some of the ingredients include the stems or bark of the Banisteriopsis caapi and other plants. Drinking the tea is a spiritual ritual that seeks enlightenment and is guided by a shaman, otherwise known as a holy man. Furthermore, during this journey there are adverse side effects, and this is just one of the reasons an experienced guide is an integral part of the Ayahuasca ritual. It is said that the tea can bring closure or perspective to the passing of a loved one or other emotional traumas.…

Although Shah Jahan is best known for the creation of Mughals’ most magnificent creation, the Taj Mahal, Shah Jahan is also credited for building some of the most renowned Mughal structures such as Delhi Red Fort, Pearl Mosque, Jama Masjid, Diwan-I-Am & Diwan-I-Khas etc. Shah Jahan was a very different character compared to Akbar. He was more orthodox in religion, so much so that he ordered the demolition of several Hindu temples. An extremely able ruler, he was also a notably ruthless. He rebelled against his father and murdered his two elder brothers, their children and two male cousins in order to achieve the throne. Yet while Shah Jahan was capable of such cold-blooded brutal actions, there is no doubt that he was the most aesthetically sensitive of all the Mughals. As a boy of 15, he had impressed both his father and his grandfather with the taste he demonstrated in re-designing the Imperial apartments in Kabul and buildings within Agra fort. He had precocious talent for building and he had the most refined of the tastes in arts and architecture.…
