“Taking one for the Team” Summer time Saturdays, a lot of memorable events happens on these days, especially for me.
I spent most of my time working, hanging out with different girls, or fucking somebody’s daughter. 2013 one of the freshest guys In the city rocking the “Kendrick Lamar Fade”, facial hair growing in, the old heads on the street called it “peach fuzz” but I was still proud ha! My mom would be staying with her boyfriend all summer, it was nice to see her happy. Those where the best Saturdays to me just hanging out with my friends, having the house to myself, it’s like I was grown with not one bill to pay, except a rather high phone bill of 200 dollars. There was this one girl named Christen, honey complexion, body of goddess, met her at school in sociology during the spring semester. She was all any guy could ask or even imagine asking for in a girl. She knows how to take care of her man and keep her man happy, definitely wife material. Being a teenage mother matured her, a bad situation with her baby father made her strong and smarter.
Then there was Akia, light skin, beautiful brown eyes, thick thighs and a smile that will drive you wild. She was the girl that all dope boys wanted, tattoos, tongue ring, and a lip ring she was sexy. She was the good girl, damn near perfect she’d go to the worlds end for you if she felt you where worthy; which was never the situation. This was the girl that would cook for you after sex, be quiet and let you play your video game in peace. She’d be down to fight a guy for disrespecting you behind your back and in your presence, thought that was cute. Even had history with her, close friend of my high school sweet heart who I always had a thing for and Vice Versa. She also was the girl with entirely too much baggage, her being in love with her ex-boyfriend made it feel as if I was chasing a star in the sky, never ending. I knew it was never meant to be but in love with

That Saturday was one of the most memorable Saturdays I’ve ever lived and is a stark contrast to the rest of my elementary weekdays where my life was being lived, but my life was not being recorded. All her little peculiarities are displayed through the chevron cover on her wheel, the air fresheners that fill the air, the bumper stickers that cover her body, and all her other little quirks that make her special to me. When I got my first car, I was suddenly making excuses to drive anyone, at any time of day, and wherever they needed to go! The eagerness I had to drive first started when I got my license and it only got worse when I got my own car. Other memorable experiences consisted of my arrogance being torn down into a million pieces after getting into my first wreck, getting my first ticket, and getting my first flat tire. Every single one of the memories made and experiences gained from my first car were unforgettable and knowledgeable because I made memories and mistakes that I learned from and will remember…

Happiness, bliss, love, thrill, fear, heartbreak, but there's one word that stood strong beneath each of those, depression. It’s sad to think, that what everyone had failed to see was, that behind that smile of mine, was a darkness with so much depth it engulfed me. The only one who had ever known was the girl that was like a sister to me, Elena. We battled depression together for years, she was the one who won her battle…I did not. I couldn’t, it’d become the taunting, negative voice that kept me up every night and the one that’d scream at me everyday. The tears that’d stain my pillowcase and the reason I hid behind a mask since I’d been ten years old. Slowly everyday that truly happy girl everyone would know, became the happy girl everyone knew. Only if they had known, I couldn’t ever figure out why it’d cloud my thoughts, kill my happiness, and take complete control of my life. But no one would ever know, because I was able to go through those days with a smile so bright, no one would question if I was okay or not. The truth is I wasn’t, everything inside of me was tumbling down and…

It was a casual August afternoon in Minneapolis, people walking the down the sidewalk, strangers passing by. We were visiting my old hometown. I was walking with Beth, and we were messing around. I used to have an inside joke with one of my friends from fifth grade, “Girl you need to chill.” It stuck once I moved. Anyway, Beth had just told me to chill, so, I walked into the nearest cold building. Which of course, ended up being a meat locker… 15 minutes later I was coming out and saw an all too familiar pair of square glasses. Before I could see her face, she turned away. Her bleached tip hair swung across her shoulders. The dark skin, the hair and glasses, it had to be Miracle Brown. This is the girl who was one of my best friends in sixth grade. She started heading down the street, so I told Beth to meet me back at our hotel.…

Looking back to the class of 1941, the year I graduated I now see that I was an immature 18 year old that had no idea what to do in life. I had always thought I knew where I wanted to go the whole time, but now I see there was someone anchoring me to the small town of Pebbles, Pennsylvania, and that someone was no other than Ariel Sacator. Ariel was the most outstanding young woman in Shores County. I had the largest crush on her ever since primary school, and she had one on me. We were made for each other, and everyone in Pebbles knew it too. There was only one issue with Ariel and I: I didn’t believe in love. Everyone in Pebbles was at least on their 2nd or 3rd spouse, which didn’t give me much comfort, knowing I was most likely doomed…

I’m not who I am because of where I went to college, or what I’ve done… it’s what I saw at the age of twelve in the winter of 1975. This incident changed my life forever… the alley changed my life forever. Hannah was my best friend, a girl yes, but none-the-less, my best friend. Who am I? I am Amy. Yes, probably the most feminine name you could ever give a boy, but I’m not feminine at all. Or am I? Maybe sometimes.…

It all began with shopping. First with my girlfriends over the years, goofing off on trips to the mall trying on gorgeous flowing gowns for fun, and then it was finally time for me to buy one, finally a formal occasion where I got to dress up in a fancy gown with high heels, my Mom took me to the mall. Even though it wasn’t quite prom, it was still a formal dance, a celebration of completing middle school and entering into high school. While I shopped with my Mom I could sense her excitement for me. It was exciting and special for her to see her little girl growing up. We shopped and shopped, I must’ve tried on a hundred dresses until I found the perfect one. It was pink with tiny embroidered flowers all over. I completed my look with strappy silver heels, silver jewelry and a hand bag.…
