A prominent theme that Tally shows is loyalty. Most of the people who changed her life, she has been loyal to them. Through loyalty you can gain trust. That’s why when you break your loyal, it’s hard for the person to forgive you.
Uglies had many examples of loyalty, so here’s a few of them. On page 24 it states,“Tally reminded herself of her…”. Page 113-114 states,“But she couldn’t dismiss…”. These two examples explain what promises she tries to keep in
any situation, even if she doesn’t get what she wants.
Based on this information, Tally keeps many promises. All these promises she has comes with trust. Without trust, Tally would have never knew where the Smoke was or become pretty. Loyalty is the theme that moves the plot forward.
