Background
1.1 The Unatrac International is a global network of distinguished Trading firms that are well renowned in their markets of operations. For more than 50 years it has provided services in CATERPILLAR Mining, Construction, Power Generation, Marine and Construction Equipment for several territories around the globe. It is one of the largest Engineering & Trading companies in Africa and Russia

1.2 I was a fresh engineering graduate at the time of joining Unatrac. I had already completed a 5 years full-time course in Bachelor of Mechanical Power Engineering at Alexandria University. The Preparatory year of the course included some courses in Mathematics, Physics, Mechanics and Chemistry, and also provides a basic knowledge of physical sciences underpinning Engineering. It also provided an overview of other disciplines of Engineering. The later years concentrated more particularly on the various aspects of Mechanical Engineering. I joined the above mentioned company in 2002. Initially there was a training period of Three months. On the completion of my training period, which was my probation period as well, I joined the company as a permanent Mechanical Engineer.

1.3 It was a great challenge for me to start my career with such a firm and with such a reputable company. The Firm consists of two main separate departments; one department was responsible for Design of Projects and preparing the tender documents while the other was responsible for the Project’s supervision during execution of works. While working on the project design I had to follow up on the execution of works on site by conducting meetings with different departments.
