Mankind has fallen into the deep reaches of the earth, underground in huge bunkers known as vaults. They did this to survive the war. The nuclear fallout. You’re born in the vaults, and you die in the vaults. But I am different. I shoot awake, my senses drowsy and blurred as I find my own father has left the vault. And I must go after him. Into the Wasteland. I find that they call it this for a reason. No grass, or trees, or anything survived the nukes. Only gravelly, unforgiving, upturned earth welcomes me. But I have to fight on, find my father. I arm myself with a gun, a tire iron, anything I can use. But I soon find there are others out there. Other humans who live on the Wastes. And there are monsters. Mutated animals hostile to anything that comes along. And as I set out to survive, the warm sun on my back, and the stench of decay and death behind me. Because after all, they did warn me in the beginning. “War never
