PRACTICAL SHOOTING IS FAST BECOMING A POPULAR SPORT IN THE WORLD TO DATE. COMBINING THE ELEMENTS OF SPEED, POWER, AND ACCURACY, IT IS A VENUE THAT SEEKS TO DEVELOP AND TEST AN INDIVIDUAL'S SHOOTING SKILLS IN A CONTROLLED YET REALISTIC ENVIRONMENT.
DONE FREESTYLE - THERE IS NO SINGLE METHOD BY WHICH A SHOOTING SCENARIO MAY BE ENGAGED. HENCE, IT IS A TEST OF SKILLS AND TECHNIQUES IN CONQUERING THE SHOOTING PROBLEM AT HAND.
HOWEVER, IT DOESN’T MEAN PUTTING ASIDE TRAININGS ON PROPER GRIP AND STANCE WHEN FIRING THE WEAPONS. LIKE ANY OTHER SPORTS OR SKILLS, ONE NEEDS CONSTANT PRACTICE TO MASTER AND BE ONE WITH THE WEAPON, SO TO SPEAK.
LET US BE REMINDED OF THE PRINCIPLE “ANYBODY WHO OWNS A FIREARM SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT FIREARM”. USING, HANDLING, SAFE-KEEPING ALL FALL IN THE PROPER TRAINING OF THE GUN OWNERS.
TODAY, NEXT TO DOGS, A GUN MAYBE CONSIDERED AS MAN’S BEST FRIEND IN TERMS OF SECURITY. THAT IS WHY, IF YOU OWN A GUN, KNOW THE CHARACTERISTICS OF YOUR GUN, HOW IT RECOILS AND WHAT IS THE SIGHT OF YOUR GUN. MOST IMPORTANTLY, KNOW THE 4-POINT RULE OF GUN SAFETY BY HEART.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE TANAY PRACTICAL SHOOTERS CLUB, FOR HOLDING THIS FIRST QUARTER SHOOTING COMPETITION. AND GOODLUCK TO ALL THE PARTICIPANTS.
4 Rules Of Gun Safety: 1. Consider all guns as loaded; 2. Never let the muzzle of the gun point to anything unless you want to shoot it; 3. Keep your finger off the trigger unless you are ready to fire and; 4. Be sure of your target – what lies beyond and around it before you shoot.
