Also, the discussion made me realize the time frame the play was written in. What I mean by the time frame the play was written is how the play compares to how time is now in America.
Tartuffe was written in a time where the women were expected to wear a certain type of clothes. Long dresses and it was common to have your cleavage hanging out in the clothes that they wore. Now a days, well in America, people are free to dress the way they want without being looked at as being different or out of place.
Furthermore, the play showed me what it was like during the 1600’s. What people found entertaining and what they enjoyed watching. From the interactive oral, I saw different perspectives that made me understand more of the 1600. Personal connections that my fellow classmate’s family stories and traditions that they shared among us.
Finally, the interactive oral was a transforming and powerful experience. It made me appreciate the culture of others. Showed me that just because I was taught something was correct, it doesn’t mean something else is also correct. Everyone is from different places where they might act, talk, or believe different things but that absolutely doesn’t mean they are any less of a person than you.
